Two people.
One fund.
Carlos Perrett and Kenneth Lopez are husbands who founded this fund together in 2020 — the year they married — as a shared expression of what they believe in and who they are.
Carlos grew up in Houston and earned his degree from Pitzer College before going on to raise tens of millions of dollars for education nonprofits across the country. Kenneth was raised in the province of Limón, Costa Rica, the son of hardworking parents who built a prosperous life through land, labor, and deep roots in their community. He went on to spend over a decade in the banking world, rising through multiple roles at Banco de Costa Rica, before eventually making his home in the United States.
As gay Latino men, their identities — queer, immigrant, first-generation — are not incidental to this fund. They are the foundation of it. Every giving priority reflects something they have lived, fought for, or been lifted by.
This fund is how they pay that forward — not as charity, but as a declaration that access to education, to opportunity, to a dignified life, is something every family deserves.
